It is easy to enable the Speech Central iOS share extension, so that you can import articles from Safari (or another app). Here’s how:
- Open Safari
- Tap the Share button
- If Speech Central icon is not visible among app icons, swipe the row with the app icons to the right, and tap ‘More’
- Tap ‘Edit’ in the top right corner of the screen
- Find Speech Central, and it to your favorites list by tapping the + button. Bu dragging the item you can bring it closer to the top of the list if you prefer that
- Tap on ‘Done’
Due to complexities and technical limitations some content may not be extracted this way. As an alternative we provide also shortcuts that use Safari reading view to extract the text. Add the shortcuts by clicking the links below and they will show on the bottom of the Share sheet:
- Use Safari Reader screen to grab the content and send it to Speech Central
- Use Safari Reader screen to grab the content and listen to it in Speech Central
When you run those shortcuts you will need to approve their access to particular resources so that they can access the content.
